In his own words:
“There has always been an element of the spiritual in my work. Since moving in 1980 to the Plain Valley north of Leavenworth, WA., that element has found itself integrated into paintings of landscapes and now more recently, the cosmos. I have been deeply moved by the images that have come from NASA and the Hubble Telescope. A recent emphasis in my work has involved attempts at connecting images from the cosmos with local landscapes, thus moving the cosmos from an aspect of awe to one of intimacy. These attempts are re-defining my artistic approach to the relationships between spirituality and visual reality.”
