Carmen was born in Santiago, Chile. She became interested in art at an early age, studying oil painting with the renowned teacher Pedro Luchavecci. She graduated from the INCACEA Institute of Chile as a project manager in architecture.
During the following years she studied oil and acrylic painting under the guidance of the known teacher Mrs. Carmen Silva at the Cultural Institute of Las Cordes in Santiago.
Carmen has participated in a number of art shows: - in 1999 she was awarded the First Place prize at the “in situ” contest at the Cultural Institute of Providencia in Santiago – chosen out of 400 other participants - in 2000 and 2001 her works appeared at the Chilean-Japanese Cultural Institute with “special mention” - in 2002 she received a Diploma in Painting from the Pontificia Catholic University of Chile - in 2003 her work was shown at the Gallery of the Fundacion Nacional de Cultura in Santiago (National Foundation of Culture) - in 2005 her new work was again selected for showing at the Chilean- Japanese Cultural Institute
